Meet your hosts: Oliver and Rebecca
We are Oliver and Rebecca, your hosts at L'Ancien Atelier. Oliver is a retired classic car mechanic, with a passion for vintage vehicles and country sports. Rebecca is a dedicated horse trainer, a qualified East Asian five-element acupressure practitioner, and runs a business selling specialised horse feed and supplements. Together, we share a deep love for the outdoors, animals, and of country life. Rebecca enjoys cooking, horse riding, gardening, and spending time with loved ones, while Oliver cherishes his classic cars and motorbikes, and we both love our animals and exploring in our classic VW camping car, Wilma. We look forward to welcoming you.
Our Story
We came to live in the Hautes Pyrenees after 20 years in Tarn et Garonne where we had a small farm and were successful chambres d'hotes hosts.
We found Panquere through friends and instantly fell in love, the garden was a blank canvas and the house only partly renovated, which gave us the chance to be creative, we saw it as our "final" project. The situation of the property, so near to the lake and the land was perfect for our needs.
The old carpentry workshop was an ideal place to make into a small gite, it took a deal of imagination and a lot of grubby graft, but with help of friends and our builder friend Paul, we have created a comfortable and tranquil retreat.
We have found the people around here to be really friendly and we are made to feel really at home.
